Hello Jtjones23, The print shield stainless is designed to help resist fingerprints on the appliance. Other than that it is considered real stainless. We hope this helps.

Please try again later.KitchenAid calls this exterior finish "Print Shield Stainless" because it is real stainless steel but what some would call "brushed" stainless steel. It has a softer look than plain stainless steel which can appear mirror-like with glare. The PrintShield Stainless steel shows less fingerprints. A beautiful fridge!
