“Is the downdraft (at 300 cfm) powerful enough for stir fry? Is there concern of food crumbs falling into the downdraft? Is there a filter inside blocking food from falling deep down?”

Just recently installed mine and a stir fry was one of my first preparations; the downdraft worked fine for me. You are subject to drop crumbs and small utensils into the downdraft but clean out is no problem if you use the filter. With filter in place, I don't see how anything could drop deep down.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The downdraft is quite powerful. I think stir fry would be ok. There is a filter, though pieces of food can fall down. There is a container on the bottom that can be opened by unscrewing 2 screws
