A:AnswerAnother vendor has a great breakdown of all the levels of the models, but there is an unlabeled version on the KitchenAid website, https://www.kitchenaid.com/major-appliances/dishwashers/third-rack.html (under STYLE Make it your own). Each includes the feature(s) of the lower level(s) plus the additional feature for that level.
404 = FreeFlex Third Rack
604 = Fan-Enabled ProDry System
704 = LED Interior Lighting
804 = Stainless Interior Accents
A:AnswerSo I finally got in touch with someone at kitchenaid that was able to at least provide me some information. She said that the fan can run up to 8 hours after wash was completed or until the door is opened. I don’t think I have tried it for that long so I will let it hit 8 hrs and see if it turns off and report back
A:AnswerI was compare shopping the 404KPS and 604KPS. The big difference I saw was the "Pro-dry" feature on the 604KPS. We spent the $100 and got the 604KPS. My wife says the Pro-Dry is worth the money. She says it works very well. It dries much better than any dishwasher we have ever had.
A:AnswerYes, you can remove both upper racks and the middle one can be moved up and down. The very top rack has a utensil rack that can also be removed. We cook a lot, and both my husband and I love the way this machine loads. The company clearly has put a lot of thought into it.
A:AnswerHi RPMM. The pump is protected from large objects entering it by the
foreign object cup in the front and below the lower rack. The
maintenance free filter system does not require any regular
cleaning or maintenance. If this cup fills up with particles or
objects, depress the tab in the center and pull up on the cup to
remove it. Dispose of the contents and then replace the cup. To
replace the cup, put into the opening and push down to lock in
place. You can access the product help and demo pages for this unit by going to the following link: http://bit.ly/3eiskvp
A:AnswerYou CAN separate the KitchenAid silverware basket(s) without breaking the handle if you have two paint can lid openers and a rubber mallet. The paint can lid openers pry the basket side pieces over the triangular tabs on the handle. It worked best if the paint can pry tools use the upper gray rectangular pieces for leverage. Once the basket side cross pieces have cleared the triangle pieces on the handle give the bottom of the basket a good whack and voila! It helped to have a second person do the mallet. I won't remove the handle off the second basket and will probably chuck it under the sink and only use for silverware at gatherings. I have better, older silverware holders if needed. The removable sliding top is useful on the separated holder if I have lots of little caps, etc. to wash.
A:AnswerHi Dajameshouse, yes this unit has the Top Control, so you would select the cycle and options, then press Start, and close the door within 4 seconds, and the cycle will start.
A:AnswerNot sure where you got those dimensions. Here is the link to the product in the Kitchenaid website: https://www.kitchenaid.com/major-appliances/dishwashers/integrated-control/p.44-dba-dishwasher-in-printshield-finish-with-freeflex-third-rack.kdpm604kps.html. As you can see, the depth for KDPM604KPS is also 24 1/2 inches.
A:AnswerMy recommendation is to enroll in the Total Tech program. This would cover removal and Takeaway of the old DW as well as installation of the new one. All coordinated at time of purchase.
A:AnswerSylly, you can fold down the tines on the second level rack and the lower rack. Please visit https://bit.ly/3pajAvV and refer to page 4 for more information.
