This particular mixer has the glass bowl, although the metal/stainless bowls fit on the base of this mixer.

Yes it's glass but I really like it. It has a handle and is easy to carry. No option for steel. Must purchase separate.

It is a glass bowl that's what mine came with. I actually like it has a handle and a spout I'm not sure if the stainless steel one has that.

I love the glass bowl. Great if you need to soften butter first. It's really heavy too, which is nice on a stiffer dough. I was able to buy a stainless bowl that fits the mixer on Amazon. Always nice having two bowls.
