“I have 4 1/4 inch space in wall to outside of the sheet rock. My question is will these speakers fit in the wall ok or will they stick out some? I'd like for them to be flush but they don't have to be as long as I can hide the gap and the sound?”

The R-1650-W speaker has a mounting depth of 4 inches. It should work fine in the application you are attempting.
