That's exactly how it works... your MacBook, iMac, etc. wirelessly (via BlueTooth) connects to the subwoofer (which is plugged into an electrical outlet). The "master" speaker (with the volume control) is plugged into the subwoofer, as well as to the other remote speaker. I have these speakers, and I am very pleased with them... they sound phenomenal... but with that being said, they've "disconnected" on me (on my iMac) twice within the past couple of weeks. I had to unplug the power cord (to reset them).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it does not connect to the sub woofer. It connects to the small module that is under the R side speaker. The light on the module will turn from white to blue when it is properly connected via BT. I use them occasionally for listening to my music on my phone via Bluetooth. It usually works very well, but sometimes the signal will drop for unknown reasons and I have to reconnect my phone. I can honestly say that these speaker sound great for what they are though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You're right on the money. The MacBook will connect to the sub via Bluetooth and the sub will connect to the satellites via copper.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It connects all of the speakers via Bluetooth. I have it plugged into my computer directly but connect to the phone via Bluetooth.
