  • QuestionJust curious but could these speakers be used as surround back speakers in a home theater setup??

    Asked by Chris.

    • Answer Yes! The R-50M bookshelf speakers are good additions to a home theater setup and are typically used as rear or side surround speakers. Please keep in mind that these speakers have a power handling of 75 Watts at 8 Ohms. You will want a receiver that supplies close to 80-100 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms to ensure quality audio reproduction and longevity of the speaker's components. • QuestionWill these speakers work on a carpeted floor or will it effect the sound?

    Asked by Jerry.

    • Answer Ideally the speakers should be placed at a height in which the top horn is close to eye/ear level (this will ensure optimal imaging of the sound). The speakers can be placed on a carpeted floor but there may be frequencies that are lost depending on the listening position and room acoustics.

  • QuestionHow are the speakers powered?

    Asked by Matt.

    • Answer These are traditional 'passive' speakers which require a separate device, known as an audio/video receiver (or amplifier) to send both signal and power to the speakers. The receiver/amplifier would connect to your TV or audio source device, to receive audio signal - and would also connect to the speakers, to send the audio signal (and power) to the speakers. • QuestionCan I use these two-bookshelf speakers along with Klipsch | R-100 SW Subwoofer? Also, will Denon AVR-X1700H 7.2ch 8K AV Receiver can be used to power up this combination?

    Asked by arunkumar23k.

    • Answer The R-50M speakers have a power handling of 75 Watts at 8Ohms. The Denon AVR-X1700H should be able to sufficiently power the R-50M speakers since this receiver has an power rating of 80 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.08% THD, with 2 channels driven. The Denon AVR-X1700H has two RCA subwoofer pre-outs. These pre-outs can be connected to the R-100SW's RCA Line Inputs. All in all, this would be a great setup!
