To connect this model R-80SWi to teh R-15PM powered speakers: 1. Plug in the subwoofer and set the power switch to Auto or On 2. Attach the wireless transmitter's RCA to the R-15PM's subwoofer output and plug in the power cord to the transmitter and the wall 3. Press and hold the pair buttons on the wireless transmitter as well as the subwoofer for 3 seconds. 4. The LED will turn solid once paired. *For step 3, sometimes it is easier to take the transmitter closer to the sub with the sub output connection to the audio source device(in this case R-15PM) disconnected and then take the transmitter back and connect to the R-15PM after paired initial pairing.

The said if the light is on the transmitter plugged into the the receiver's sub woofer and the sub are on and steady it's paired. That I can preform the buzz test by unplugging the transmitter and touching it to the sub and actually partial unplugged produced the strong buzz. So the speaker is working. It took another hour of finding the old Yamaha receiver manual online and discovered the issue is that the bass was on MAIN, no sub woofer. Can use SW or BOTH settings and Wala it works great! Additional details for my receiver. 4. BASS OUT Choices: SW/MAIN/BOTH Preset position: BOTH SW Select this position if your system includes a subwoofer. In this position, signals on the LFE channel and other low bass signals that are distributed from other channels are directed to the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT terminal when playing a source encoded with Dobly Digital or DTS. Note • When playing a 2-channel source (tape, MD, CD, video cassette etc.), select the BOTH position to direct low bass signals (below 90 Hz) to the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT terminals. MAIN Select this position if your system does not include a subwoofer. In this position, besides full-range signals on the main channels, signals on the LFE channel and other low bass signals (below 90 Hz) that are distributed from other channels are directed to the right and left main speakers. BOTH Select this position if your system includes a subwoofer. In this position, signals on the LFE channel are directed to the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT terminal. Low bass signals on the main channels are directed to both the main speakers and the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT terminal.
