he main differences between the original and the mk II (newer) models are small improvements to the woofer (longer throw, better response) and a wider horn angle (for better sweet-spot orientation). The newer version of those speaker models have a little better response/presence and upgraded internal cabinet bracing which lowers overall total distortion (which is already extremely low for the Reference and Reference Premiere line of speakers).
