The reference has an operating frequency of 35Hz - 21kHz +/- 3dB, a sensitivity of 97 dB @ 2.83V/1M, and an aluminum tweeter. The reference premier however has an operating frequency of 32-25kHz +/- 3dB, a sensitivity of 98dB @ 2.83V / 1m, and a titanium tweeter. Basically the premier has a wider range of operation for the lows and highs, it can be louder at lower power output, and is built of more quality materials. Hope this helps.
