Q: Questionthe authorized klipsch page claims the rp-280 fa is 150 watts continuous and 600w peak, while best buy is claiming 900w peak. are these an updated model? is best buy playing fast and loose with the specs?

• A:Answer The RP280FA is actually two speakers in one cabinet (including separate speaker wire terminals), a front firing floor speaker and an upward firing atmos speaker. The 900 watt figure quoted by Best Buy is a sum of 600 watts for the floor speaker and 300 for the atmos speaker.

• A:Answer An “active” speaker has an amplifier built in. A “Passive” speaker requires and external amplifier.... such as an A/V Receiver.

• A:Answer To order these in Black/Ebony/etc you'll have to go to a Best Buy that has a Magnolia "DESIGN CENTER" and special order your tower(s). Not all Best Buy's with Magnolia's have a Design Center, call and ask your local Best Buy/Magnolia.

• A:Answer I believe that Klipsch does still make a few in Hope, AK. The Reference line is China . I think you could call Klipsch at 1-800-Klipsch to get a direct response from them. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer The Klipsch website can be helpful. I would stay in the Reference Premiere(RP) line and not the lower priced, often on sale Reference(R) line. If you purchase the RP-280FA, you are getting an incredible deal on a great pair of speakers. You may have to buy the rest of the setup from the newest Reference Premiere line at full price, but you will have a great setup for hours of home theatre and music listening pleasure for years to come.

Q: QuestionThe Heritage line is real. Klipschorn, LaScala, Forte, Heresey, Belle, Chorus, Cornwall, pretty much covers it. They are expensive but worth every penney, only dealers carry them, made in USA

Q: QuestionTo anyone wondering, these are NOT considered real Klipsch, they are department store speakers and nothing more, made dirt cheap over sea's. PWK would roll in his grave if he saw this with his name on it. You go to a Klipsch dealer to buy the real ones.

• A:Answer It’s true that these speakers, like the majority of current Klipsch products, are imported. RP-280SA are from the Reference Premiere line, which is a definite step above that Reference series found on the shelves at any Best Buy. The RP-280SA is an Atmos ready speaker. I purchased a pair as part of a major upgrade to my home theater room, and I don’t think you can touch their performance at the current clearance price.
