The Reference Premiere RP-280FA floorstanding speaker is built upon the same technology and power as the RP-280F floorstanding speaker, but with an elevation channel integrated into the top of the speaker to reflect sound off the ceiling to deliver the overhead Dolby Atmos experience.
Q: Does this model include Dolby ATMOS with top firing speaker ?
A: Yes. Make sure it says 280FA.
A: The RP280FA is actually two speakers in one cabinet (including separate speaker wire terminals), a front firing floor speaker and an upward firing atmos speaker. The 900 watt figure quoted by Best Buy is a sum of 600 watts for the floor speaker and 300 for the atmos speaker.
A: An “active” speaker has an amplifier built in. A “Passive” speaker requires and external amplifier.... such as an A/V Receiver.
Q: That $799 for both speakers or one ? Thanks
A: It's $799 for one. But it's still a great deal
Q: How come it only comes in cherry and not black? Is the black option available?
A: To order these in Black/Ebony/etc you'll have to go to a Best Buy that has a Magnolia "DESIGN CENTER" and special order your tower(s). Not all Best Buy's with Magnolia's have a Design Center, call and ask your local Best Buy/Magnolia.
Q: Are they made in the U.S.A?
A: I believe that Klipsch does still make a few in Hope, AK. The Reference line is China . I think you could call Klipsch at 1-800-Klipsch to get a direct response from them. Hope this helps.
Q: is this speaker wireless-bluetooth ????
A: No it isn’t
Q: What are the center and surround matching speakers?
A: The Klipsch website can be helpful. I would stay in the Reference Premiere(RP) line and not the lower priced, often on sale Reference(R) line. If you purchase the RP-280FA, you are getting an incredible deal on a great pair of speakers. You may have to buy the rest of the setup from the newest Reference Premiere line at full price, but you will have a great setup for hours of home theatre and music listening pleasure for years to come.
