“just a quick question: does this center channel connect directly to my 4k LG OLED (65C8) w/o a receiver, temporarily, to abandon the internal TV spkrs and switch to external? is there a direct connection/input connecters to just quickly improve the sound”

I believe you will need a receiver to power the speaker. The TV does not have enough power, nor the connections, to do it on its own. This was meant to be connected to an AV receiver.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely not! There is a direct connection but it has to come from either a stand alone power amplifier or a amplifier output of a AV receiver. This is not a sound bar so you will need to provide appropriate equipment to power the drivers. This is a VERY large center channel with a 150 watt RMS. RMS stands for root means square, its basically the amount of power recommended to safely drive this thing. It still has a ton of head room with the 600 watt max so you could easily send 250 watts to it and it would well exceed the volume you could comfortably listen to it with out harming the drivers. The great thing about Klipsch is they are very sensitive, which bascially means they are very efficient. One watt will get you about 96 decibels at 1 meter away from the speaker. This is nice because it can still scream off a 70 watt signal from a pretty good AV receiver, BUT this is not just a pretty good center channel, its a beast. So ultimately its up to you- Are you gonna spend $700 on a center channel but not drop the coin to feed the beast? (hard pushing an under powered speaker damages way more drivers that over powering and pushing them) If no the next question is how far do you want to go down this home theater money rabbit hole. A separate A31 Parasound amplifier is perfect for front stages with 250 watts aRMS at 8 ohms but costs about $2,200 and you still need a AV with pre outs to send it a pre amp signal.

Don't even try to connect this speaker directly to your TV because this can damage your unit. This speaker always requires receiver or amplifier with matching output to produce a optimum sound quality.
