RP-504C: A worthy upgrade from my Klipsch R34C

I upgraded my Klipsch R-34C to RP-504C. You can see them side by side. You can see that by comparison, the RP-504C is a beast. My entertainment center is barely deep enough for it, and I had to raise my TV on the wall to accommodate it.
I was able to change my crossover point from 100 Hz on the R-34C to 80 Hz on the RP-504C. Dialogue is clearer. Sometimes we would have a problem clearly hearing dialogue with the R-34C. To be fair, I did change my level from -1 dB to flat, and the RP-504C is 1 dB greater sensitivity, so by my math we went up +2 dB.
Music during TV shows sounds fuller. The opening scene of Stars Wars A New Hope is amazing. I have only had it for about a week, but I am very happy with this upgrade.
Now I just need to sell my R-34C.
I was able to get the RP-504C at a great price, which just so happens to be the full retail price of the R-34C right now.
Note that the speaker is rear ported, and that there is just 1 set of terminals, so no bi-amp or bi-wire.
I am paired with Klipsch RP-160M mains, R-120SW sub, and R-51M rear surrounds. My receiver is Onkyo TX-NR696. Next upgrade is probably my sub, and then real Atmos elevation speakers.

This center speaker is the real deal if you like rich sounds and attention to detail when listening to music or watching movies like you’re in a cinema...but from the comfort of your own home. This is a must buy because of the punch it carries in terms of sounds-highs or lows....

This thing is veryyy big, I measured to make sure it would fit where I wanted it but until you open it and put it on your tv stand, measuring won’t do it justice. I set it to full range and just had the center playing and let me tell you, this thing can put out some bass with the 4 5.25 inch speakers. It is very clear and loud with movies or music playing. I can’t wait to finish my home theater setup and enjoy it.

I’ve been using Klipsch speakers since mid-80s. As I was getting ready to choose audio for my music system, I couldn’t help but notice the level of impedance resistance these speakers had back in the day. I was new to the audiophile world but no speaker had the ability to negotiate strong decibel impedance while maintaining balance with the rest of the frequencies. I rocked my bedroom out as if it was Studio 54, fast forward to 2019 and looking for a A/V for movies and shows, my practical option was to use Bose - I didn’t want to make things complicated. It had good sound. One day I realized the magic I was missing out by not upgrading my system to true 5.1 one. I bought 2 pairs in-wall Bose speakers but my Onkyo receiver wasn’t delivering as I expected. Enter center channel, 180 degrees of change! This center channel brought life back to the whole system, even the bass level increased in quality and power. This is an essential item of your sound system, the price is reasonable, it cost $700 which is about a pair of Bose speakers, no issues there. Highly recommended, if you’re into fully enjoying HD quality in movies, run! Get this bad boy!

Wonderful center channel with very very clear dialogue. Looks great too. Only little critique is it’s not real wood when for the money, it should be.

Outstanding Center Channel Speaker

Being a former live music venue manager I'm a little picky on what sound equipment I'll have in my house. This is the best center channel speaker I've ever owned. I had an older Bose center channel before, which was nice but past it's prime. This just blows that out of the water. It paid , BIG TIME, to spend a little extra for an outstanding center channel speaker

I upgraded to the RP504C from an R34C and the difference is night and day.
R34C is really harsh at high volume, and struggles to keep up with my R820F floor speakers. Constantly had to adjust the volume higher to hear dialog, and then lower during action scenes, or turn on captions which drove me nuts.
RP504C dominates the sound stage, even next to massive speakers like the R820Fs. Listening to a deep male voice like Darth Vader is on another level, you can actually feel the bass in his voice rattle in your chest. Music is also fantastic, especially with solo vocalists where you can hear really fine detail in the song that was not audible at all on other center channels I have had. I also do not experience any listening fatigue or harshness like I did with the R34C at high volumes.
If you have the cash, and the physical space for this monster speaker I would go for it!

This center channel is amazing. This speaker makes the voices on screen jump out at you and sounds amazing while doing so. I have this center between my RP-8000Fs which are booming in action and explosive scenes. Yet somehow, this center speaker cuts through the loud action like a precision blade through butter. I highly recommend this speaker.

This is the big brother of the Klipsch center channel speaker that most Best Buys have on display at the store. Fork out the extra and upgrade to this one. The center channel speaker is the core of your audio system if your goal is watching movies in a near theater experience. This one blew me away hooked up to a comparable quality receiver. Dialog is crystal clear and bonus is the bass which is working in perfect harmony with my sub firing from behind my sofa. Highly recommend this product for the price.

The 600-watt center speaker sounds great, but,.....it is huge. If I had known it was this big, I wouldn't have bought it. I was hoping to put it on my fireplace mantle below my TV, but it is way too big. I should have looked at the dimensions before purchasing it.
I now have the full Klipsch speaker system (600-watt towers and the 400-watt subwoofer). I'll be honest, I don't notice much difference between this center speaker compared to my old Sony 150-watt center speaker. If you don't have the 400-watt Klipsch subwoofer, you need to get it now - it is a game changer.

This center channel releases the sound other speakers can’t, it’s powerful as well. At high volume it’s crystal clear. I have a Marantz SR 8012 receiver that produces the best sound I have ever heard in a home theater system.

Great center channel speaker. It has helped alot with hearing dialog, especially with action movies. I had ordered 2 of these and was not too happy once I saw the box it came in. The forst order showed up and the box was so badly beaten I was not sure my speajer would be in tact.Well, it was but there was a scratch on the lower left coner in the front. The second one looked as if it went thry the exact beating but a tad worse. So much so that it hat to get returned due to the physical damage it took.

since the death of princess di when i bought the EPIC series speaker system for my house the new reference series has really refreshed and upgraded sonically soundscape...
both bright and bold, musically, visually, the exposed speakers are beautiful spotlights against the dark features of the rest of the components, and, arguably, the center is most important for picking up important, sometimes buried notes or dialog...
very pleased, as always, with my klipschs...

The new 504 has replaced 20 year old Infinite CC2 125w channel. The Infinite unit is still working good, but I wanted to update with something new. And I was able get a good deal on this speaker. Because this speaker was more sensitive, I had to reduce the db output for this channel. My wife immediately noticed that voices were clearer, and projected. This four drivers speaker is awesome. It is also quite big, I had to make some modifications to my entertainment center to get this to fit. I am definitely happy that I purchased this unit.

This center speaker replaced a Klipsch Reference series R-34 c because it’s lack of power. The RP-504c delivered in a big way. Even my RP-800f 8” floor standing speakers aren’t able to drown it out.

The Klipsch - RP-504C is an awesome center channel speaker! I upgraded from the 34C and the difference was huge! The 34C sounded good but I kept having to turn on closed captioning at times to hear low voices. Not anymore. This is the one you need for clarity and detail. Highly recommended. I got it on sale for half price!
