Though these are not intended for ceiling mounting, it can still be done. I have 4 of them on my ceiling with an adjustable mount like the rocket fish RF-HSWM2B. For an extra $5 at the local hardware store I used 1/4” pan head screws backwards with a wing nut to place on the mounts and they look awesome and sound great. Very secure. You can place a screw directly on the ceiling, but one screw may not be secure enough. The rocket fish mount is installed with 2 screws and allows adjustments to aim exactly where you want it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To be used in a Dolby Atmos application, these speakers should be set up on their backs in an up-firing position to bounce sound off the ceiling. They are designed to be placed on top of tower speakers, but could also be paired with bookshelf rear speakers (for example) on separate stands up-firing. The challenge is to find stands to accommodate the R-41SA. A center speaker stand could work if the height is similar, but many center stands are low. The R-41SA could be mounted on a wall or on the ceiling in other surround configurations too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can't mount it on the ceiling the speakers should laid flat on the back by your center speaker according to design and the sound will bounce and travel true the ceiling for sound effects works pretty need is worth buying and works great on flat ceilings. Hope this helps !
