The proper installation is to wire to your receiver on its dedicated post for height/ceiling channel. If there is not an available pair of posts, you may need to upgrade your receiver to a Dolby Atmos ready receiver or a power amplifier may be needed for the additional posts depending on your receiver model.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There must be separate Atmos outputs on your surround reciever and you must set up the reciever for Atmos decoding. Check your manual.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To answer the question, first we have to know if the amplifier using is compatible with Atmos. If it is compatible for apples depending on the amplifier you have on the back of the amp you may find actual Atmos speaker output. On some amps the higher end ones typically they'll have programmable Atmos features built-in so you can select which output you're going to use. If your receiver does not have Atmos then you cannot play Atmos sound at all. However Best Buy dust cell definitive speakers that come with Atmos feature installed in the speaker which does a fair job at separating the sound. And this case the programming is built into the speaker.
