These are working great as both surround and rear speakers in my system

I know that they will sound amazing as rear bookshelf speakers but in my situation I have to mount them directly on the back wall and since these have a rear port, will that be an issue? There will be no gap for the rear port to be effective. Do subs nullify the usage (or lack thereof) of rear ported bookshelf speakers. My front stage is RP-8000F and RP-504C.
