I used to own a Sony str dn1070 and can recommend it, if you can find one for sale. I now have a Denon Avr-x2700h and love it even more than the Sony.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use an Onkyo 7.2 atmos receiver and they sound great. Sony makes good receivers and I'm sure they would be adequate. I have heard that Denon and Yamaha receivers also work well with klipsch speakers. Years ago I was doing research about piano brands and manufacturers. One piano expert said "if the keys feel good and the piano sounds good, don't question it and enjoy the music." My advice here is if the Sony you have sounds great with your new klipsch speakers than enjoy the music and sound. However, many receivers have the ability to update software to optimize sound processing for the best output. If your receiver is old and doesn't have that ability you may want to upgrade to one that does. You can always write down the model number of your Sony and take it to a best buy salesman for further advice.
