That's for you to decide, but even though they have awsome base they are not subwoofers so trying to adjust them to replace a subwoofer just takes very important power away from the other speakers in the enclosure, which is probably not what the geniuses at Klipsch did when they created that perfect balance. Remember that dirty sound seams loud because your ears struggle with distortion and will tire faster than much higher decibels of balanced clean sound which makes you think it's not that loud.

If you want for movies and like the action move vibration, yes get a quality sub but if you have a center channel with these, 90% of tv watching will not need a sub. Musick also but I do suggest a center speaker for voices on tv

Please try again later.While the R-620F can definitely carry it's own as a 2-channel set up, we typically recommend a subwoofer to help divide the frequencies (helps clarity in the towers and low-end frequencies). Within the same product line, I would recommend taking a look at the R-100SW.
