I am using the Denon AVRS750H rated at 110 Watts/channel to power the Klipsch 600 Watt towers. This is similar in power to your Sony. I am also using the Klipsch R-120W powered subwoofer. With the volume control set at 75 (out of 1 to 100) I get as much volume as the neighbors would tolerate. My listening area is 30'x30' and 14 feet high. I'm sure your existing receiver will handle the larger Klipsch towers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same setup and the combination is perfect. The sound is so amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sub has it's own 400 w amp built in. That is what a powered amp means. Your Sony will drive the Klipsch with no problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would be fine the 400watt sub powers it self by it's on amp that is in side it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think the efficiency of the speakers is whats in play here. If the efficiency rating of the speaker is high, like 97 or so, pushing your 600's won't be a problem. I wouldn't ever down grade my speakers to make them fit a receiver. Upgrade your receiver some day.
