Upgraded from my 6” Klipsch, and let me tell you the difference is amazing! Well worth the upgrade. Did pick them up when they were $250 each and was well worth it!

Great deal if you can catch on sale for $359 each. Perfect pic for surroundsound speaker . If used as front main speakers I would highly recommend purchasing at least a 500 W subwoofer to enhance bass !

A little overwhelming when opening box

    |
    Posted .

I was little surprised when I opened the box regarding their size. Everything always looks smaller at the store. I hooked them up to my audio receiver and was a little disappointed at low volume. Then I turned up the volume and the world opened up in quality and spaciousness! I realized these speakers want power and lots of it. So be prepared to have the volume up to get the best out of them.

Bought these to replace a pair of Klipsch KG 1.2's that I've owned since 1992. The KG's still sound flawless but I needed something worthy of pairing with the vintage receiver I just had refurbished. These towers are beautiful. Top shelf listening experience for under 1k. When paired with a high quality amp, your music will open up and provide you with listening experiencing you might not have had ages. I've spent every day since this purchase digging through my catalog and rediscovering my LP, CD collection. I could not be happier with this purchase AND the sales staff at Best Buy.

    Bass, Sound quality

I bought these Klipsch R-820F speakers to play vinyl records after having to retire my giant Klipschorn speakers because I no longer had corners to place them. These free standing towers fit the bill. At first the towers gave me the impression of hearing two separate sound sources but after listening to them for a couple of weeks I discovered that it was my eyes deceiving me as I was used to the wide footprint of the Klipschorns. By closing my eyes I discovered that the 820s really do offer a broad soundstage. The midrange is crisp and more full than the R-620F. See for yourself by listening to both in the Best Buy store. They gave me more of a sense of orchestra presence than the Polk towers. The R-820Fs deliver generous dispersion whether standing or sitting. You notice coloration differences as you walk across the room, but that's true of live performances too. The ported bass is robust for most instruments, but if you insist on crispness in your classical music string bass, contrabassoon, and organ pedal notes you should add the subwoofer. For home theater, add the subwoofer. For popular music you don't need the subwoofer unless you're in a frat house. My Denon receiver offered line outputs for the subwoofer and let me set the crossover to 80 Hz.

Picked these bad boys up for 50% off. Great response across the musical spectrum. Bass is solid, midrange is lifelike, high end is good, although a tad harsh at very loud levels. Driving them with 150 wpc emotiva amp leads to some very impressive and powerful experiences. I could not be happier

    Finish

I built a dedicated theater room as my first project after retirement. I tried many speakers for the front soundstage trying to get the perfect balance between clarity for dialogue, accuracy for soundtrack, and impact for special effects. I avoided the Klipsch brand for most of the search - many people swear by them, but they also have a strong contingent of non-fans, for various reasons. These speakers went on sale, so I listened to the store display, liked what I heard, took a pair home, and found the sound and effect I was looking for. I especially like the fuller and richer sound of the 8" woofers for voices and music compared to the 4 1/2" to 6 1/2" drivers found in the other speakers I tried. These are Klipsch's entry-level for towers but they provide excellent clarity for voices and music and excellent mid-bass punch. They sound just as good when they whisper as when they pound. It seems where Klipsch cut corners is in the cheaper wood, finish and hardware, but in the corner of a dark room, they look fine Powered by a Denon AVR coupled to a Marantz power amp.

These speakers are amazing, they aren't biamp, they have great sound quality and a really good thump to them. I saved a decent amount of money on what was described as excellent condition open box, I read that it was still functional with no scratches or blemishes, simply open box. This was far from the truth. One speaker had major cosmetic damage to the front top and bottom corners. Speaker still works as intended.

I bought these speakers to go with the Onkyo receiver. I was very happy with the quality of the sound & the look. I did purchase the Klipsch subwoofer ad it was needed to round out the depth of the sound. Oddly, the last thing I purchased for this system was the center channel speaker. I like deals & waited for the sales price.

    Tall Speakers with Beautiful Sound

    Posted .
    Pros mentioned:
    Design, Sound quality

The Klipsch R820F speakers are tall floor speakers that provide a rich, immersive sound. They stand around 4 feet tall, so they aren't small by any means. If you have the room for them, these make great left and right speakers for surround sound systems. Pair them up with the rest of the Klipsch Reference II speakers for a complete 7.2 channel immersive surround sound system and you won't be disappointed.

Let’s make this quick and easy. We are in our late 50’s so hearing the dialog is important. These are mostly used for TV, movies on disk (BR and 4K), and Netflix. We do listen to music some as well. We DO NOT HAVE SURROUND. We listen for now only stereo… These speakers are INCREDIBLE! The base is fantastic even without a sub. The voices on movies and TV are very easy to hear. Sound quality with music is amazing. These are worth every penny that we paid and a real blessing. If you want quality sound, high dynamic range, excellent fidelity (old folks like me know that term), these really deliver! We bought them on sale from Best Buy at $269 each. Best Buy does a great job! For reference, the receiver is Onkyo TX-NR686 God Bless!

I was looking at some of the smaller floor standing and bookshelf Reference Premier line for a few months while planning to rebuild my whole stereo set up. Those seem to be pretty well liked by the audiophile community for entry level speakers. Klipsch and their dealers had a half-off flash sale on these Reference speakers in May. I decided for their size and price I couldn't really go long. Given their size they could more easily be repurposed to my home gym or home theatre in the future if I wanted something else. At 500$ for the pair I am thoroughly satisfied. Given my bottom basement turntable and receiver I can't really give these much of a shake down. I'm feeding the speakers with crap really. I still think they said really nice. Highs are great, bass is good, and mids are OK. Again, that is being heard with some terrible equipment behind it. I also think they look GREAT with the copper screws and woofers. Just be aware that they are huge if you have a tight space.

The Klipsch Tower speakers are outstanding and excellent sounding speakers although rather tall and why they are still narrow and are slim enough to fit in most side Corners in alongside of most entertainment systems the sound is excellent where's the horn Twitter and the Dual 8-inch woofers and the tune duck port in the back makes this an outstanding stereo speaker as well as when you align it with a home entertainment system package with the proper amplification Equalization these speakers can match speakers costing twice as much I found them to be very quality worthy sound worthy and we recommend these to anyone who has thought about buying the elix the Triton ours or the JBL Tower speakers
