Q: QuestionWill a subwoofer be necessary or useful with these, or redundant? Also, would a Denon AVR S760H be sufficiently powerful for these speakers?

• A:Answer We recommend a receiver/amplifier that supplies power closer to the RP-8060FA's power handling (150 Watts at 8 Ohms). The Denon AVR S760H would be better suited with the RP-6000F (II) or the RP-5000F (II). The RP-8060FA will have a good amount of low-end or bass response. That being said, a subwoofer is always a wise addition to a home theater set-up because it can reach those deep bass tones, which are essential when watching movies or listening to music with a lot of range.

Q: QuestionWhat Happenened to the RP-8000F II Model? When the "II" Series of Reference Premiere came out i put them all on a saved list but noticed some of their listings disappearing from Best Buy. Wanting to buy them here I just find it strange for it to disappear

• A:Answer From what I found online, the Marantz Cinema 50 receiver supplies 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.08% THD, with 2 channels driven. This will be a bit short of the recommend amplifier power for the RP-8060FA speakers, which have a power handling of 150 Watts at 8 Ohms. We recommend a receiver/amplifier with close to 150 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms.
