Yes, the image on the slide will be copied onto the SD card as a jpeg file. Color images will be saved in color. Also, if you are saving an image from a color negative that image will be saved as a positive color picture (again, saved as a jpeg file on the SD card). You will see the image that will be saved on the scanner's screen before you save it.

Hello Tom! This unit will save color or negatives to an SD card. Once saved, you can transfer the files to your computer via the USB Upload function.
