QuestionI'm looking at this product as a means for backing up AND transferring data from a Windows 7 PC to an iMac, as well as being a backup for the iMac. Would this product be suitable for doing so? 1TB is more than enough space for all the data.

- Answer Yes, you may use for both, just partition the drive, there very easy to understand tutorials on laCie's web page. Size is an issue you need to review by looking at your "c" drive or wherever you are presently storing your items that you want to backup. Example for MS Word documents if your word documents are 10 megabytes (mb) each , you could fit a hundred thousand of them on this drive.

- Answer Afelter purchasing your Lacie Rugged Hardrive and having it purchased, you simply plug it into your computer and you’l get a setup file. You’ll click through that, get it registered and that’s basically it. Easy process with no hassle. There’s also a guide on the paper that comes with the hardrive.
