• Because it is a hybrid fan which sucks in air from the floor (the intake is on the bottom left and right sides) and blows it out from the higher forward facing part. You get cooler air instead of just blowing out the air in front of it.

• There is NO exact same fan on the website for $55. This is a Dyson. Dyson products are expensive.
