• there is an option for you to turn on that will only charge till 80% but you have to enable this not hard at all vary easy

• While I can't confirm if this device has smart charging, my extremely cheap Lenovo work laptop does not allow overcharging so I assume the more expensive Go has the same battery protection. As far as playing while plugged in I believe that is actually the best way to go as the system performs much better on AAA games when connected to the 65 watt power supply.
