“How does online gaming work do you have to be connected to WiFi or does this carry like a service for online gaming…I would think most would buy this to use away from the house”

Must be connected to wifi or cellular hotspot (i have not tried this tho). Online games would be difficult for this reason. I used steam and "offline" mode when away on a very few occasions. Hope this helps.

This is often how Legion Go users play these games, or stream them, and have found success with doing so. Also, while the Legion Go enables you to game on the go (pun intended), please keep in mind that playing local titles that don't require any internet connection (can be determined in the system requirements section published for each game) if you cannot access Wi-Fi may be your best bet for an enjoyable experience.
