Hello, thank you for your inquiry! Please follow the steps below when using universal fast charger BCUNI2. Adjusting the Sliding Cover: For small or standard batteries, just pull back the sliding cover. If your battery is larger, you will need to press down the release button which allows the sliding cover to extend up to 3 inches, allowing you to charge longer batteries. Adjusting Contact Positions for Charging: By manually moving the contact adjusters left and right you are able to adjust the contacts to your desired width to accommodate the positive and negative terminals. Then with the adjusting dial you are able to raise and lower the contacts allowing the contacts to touch the positive and negative terminals. Inserting the Desired Battery to Charge: With the sliding cover extended insert the battery into the BCUNI2 slide the battery back about 1/8 of an inch so you are able to see the contacts on the battery as well as the contacts on the charger. Manually adjust the contacts on the charger to meet the contacts on the battery. If needed adjust the height of the contacts by using the adjusting dial until the chargers contacts meet the batteries contacts. If you have further questions, please contact Lenmar directly. Thank you,
