Hello! Thank you for your inquiry. Replacement battery model’s #CBC446 and CBC909 are both Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries; as most cordless phone batteries are. NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) has a higher density than alkaline, and this results in a longer life of use. Lithium-ion has an even higher density rate than a NiMH batteries.
