I think if you are a novice to photo editiong, this is a good start. The higher end programs will take significantly faster processors and ideally 1TB. Battery life is also something to consider. Editing can be time consuming and it would be terrible to have a battery die and not be where you can plug up and complete a project. For such a budget laptop, this is alot of bang for the buck. Do consider using a mobile mouse for big projects. You will get more done with less frustration. As I commented in my review, this laptop has sharp edges. It doesn't seem to bother everyone. And seeing the screen resolution and color array for yourself can help you decide. Make sure what you see is what you need. Chances are this will be just fine, and actually teach you how much of an upgrade you will need later. You may want to check one out in person if you can.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here are the requirements from Adobe: Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor (2 GHz or faster) 2 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended) The AMD A8 is MUCH newer than the Athlon 64 and the speed of this newer processor is faster at the same GHz, so yes, it will run it. However, an i5 or i7 will be faster, as this A8 is equivalent to an i3 processor. This has 6 Gigs of RAM, so you're fine there as well. More is always better when dealing with photo or video editing. This meets the minimum specs fairly well, but for professional Photoshop use, you'll want to spend more for a top-end laptop. Example: An i5/i7 with 8-16 Gigs of RAM with an excellent high-quality LCD screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm using PhotoShop CS2 on it just fine. (CS2 is available for free, legally, online).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be fine. I picked this up for editing and video production on the go away from my tower. Im running Photoshop, Premier and other video and audio platforms free of problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do almost exactly the same things I do. I have had this laptop for about three weeks and have had no problem editing 1080p video In adobe after affects on this laptop. I also do some light gaming such as battlefield 4 on low graphics and it runs just fine. There is no lag or anything on this laptop that i have found yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would run both of those programs, but it would be slow for intensive editing tasks. The A8 in this laptop is a low voltage chip, but does perform decently given it's power constraints. Since you are just getting into editing, this would be serviceable.
