This device is not user upgradable. All work on the device must be performed by a certified technician, so as to not void the warranty. Yes, there is only one slot on this configuration. There is 4GB of RAM soldered to the motherboard and, in this configuration a 2GB stick on the open slot. The 2GB stick would have to be replaced. Is it worth it. We recommend you check with the Geek Squad at your local Best Buy for costs for this upgrade and weigh that cost against a marginal improvement in handling large files or working on multiple programs/windows at the same time.
