Yes, I found that ir took a moment for the Mini to recognize the monitor (or the other way around) but it works fine. I had the same question and finally found this unit in stock to confirm the HDMI connection. It didn't require any special drivers or adjustments.

I don't know what ports your Mac Mini has, but I can say that it's compatible with the Mac operating system (I'm on Yosemite, by the way). No drivers required.
