No, there is no additional bay for a second hard drive within this system.

No, you can't add a second hard drive or solid state drive (SSD) to this laptop as it comes equipped within only one SATA 3 connector. However, you can upgrade the 1TB 5400 RPM hard drive that comes with this laptop with a 2.5" SSD should you want much faster read and write speeds. I plan to do this and already have a Samsung EVO 850 waiting. I will have to clone the stock hard drive using a third party software called "Acronis". Samsung's Data Migration software is also another option. Once I have cloned the drive, it's as easy as installing the SSD into the laptop and powering it up and all will be ready good to go!
