• The Lenovo IdeaPad 330-17 laptop comes with a limited 1-year manufacturer's warranty for OEM issues. The 2.5" 7mm SATA hard drive is not soldered. Model number 81DM001UUS does have an optical drive.

• HD is sodered but you can upgrade the RAM to 16gb capacity. Can't recall how long the factory warranty lasts. Yes, it's one of the few machines that still has CD drive.
