Q: Is this recommended for college as far as typing papers?
A: I personally bought this computer for online schooling and that's exactly all I do, school and emails. All I used are applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online browsing and researching. The spacious keyboard and big screen are a plus when writing long papers or working on a presentation. I truly recommend this computer for school/college paper.

A: Yes. This model ships with the Quad-Core/Eight-Thread Intel Core i5-8250U processor, with a base speed of 1.6GHz and a Turbo Boost speed of up to 3.4GHz.
Q: Do you need a docking station for dual monitor setup and if so what would the model be?
A: This system has one HDMI-Out port for one external monitor, you can use the laptop screen plus the external monitor for two screens. If you want two external monitors, you will need to use a dock, like a universal USB port replicator.
A: This system ships with the latest version of Windows 10. Additionally, during your initial startup of the system and activation of Windows 10, it will check for the latest updates to Windows 10 to make sure you have the latest version installed. Additionally, this system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the Windows 10 operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window. Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up.

A: There is a CD/DVD-RW drive on this device and it will read CDs and DVDs you create. To "play" commercial CDs and DVDs, you will need Media Player software that is not installed on this device. You will need to add that Media Player software.
A: The one I bought my son doesn’t respond like that. I would check your mouse settings on your laptop and if it is still an issue take it back to the store so they can check it out. I try to buy all of our electronics at Best Buy as their Geek Squad is very helpful.
