• It does not generate much heat at all, I use it for hours at a time on my lap and never feel any heat at all. It does not even have a noisy fan that runs all the time. It is incredibly cool and quiet.

• No it does not. There is a fan and venting ports to regulate the system temperature. As long as the vents are clear and air can circulate through the system, the temperature should remain in control.
