I purchased this 2 in 1 laptop as a replacement to an 8 year old traditional laptop. This was the greatest purchase ever. My best friend was familiar with the brand and upon his advise and research, I purchased this one. I haven't had one problem with it since its purchase. The super long battery life is PERFECT. I don't take the charging cord with me throughout the week. I generally have to charge once per week except on the weekends when I use it extremely heavily (and then may not have to charge it). This is a great, lightweight option that works very well. The touchscreen is a bonus.

This item is a huge jump from what I used to have. I traded in my Lenovo 14" 100s. I loved the 100s but it was not upgradeable! The flex 4 changed all of that ! It can support up a 16gb single stick ddr4@ 2133mhz memory. It supports any 2.5 inch hdd. Mine came with a seagate 500gb hdd. I have seen others with a 500gb WD Blue drive. This pc can be upgraded to a ssd of any variety ! The pc relies on integrated graphics from the skylake processor. It's a dual core chip but is plenty of fast enough doe everyday operation. The touch screen has a good amount of glare when in direct sun. But works well and with windows 10 can use a tablet mode that will auto launch the keyboard. The integrated keyboard is good, I would have like 2 full size shift keys. I often find my self press the up arrow because I'm used to a full size shift. The keyboard is not backlit with I'm not expecting for this price point. My sister has the i5 model flex 4 and it has a backlit keyboard. The unit comes with 3 USB ports (2-3.0,1-2.0) and they support charging when off. This feature can be turned off in bios. The screen is 1368x768 so 720p. For you video nuts. It can support display outputs to hdmi only. It has a headphone mic combo jack, and an inbeded Ethernet jack! Huge plus!! Comes with a full size wall charger that is apple style. The metal wall prongs don't fold in though, charges the laptop full in about 2 hrs. There's a small indicator near the charging port that indicates the charge status orange - white. When using in tablet mode and the keyboard is face down with the screen flat the power plus is a little off. It works but is not perfectly aligned so a little skewed. I don't thing it will cause any damage just a minor design flaw. The included sd card slot is a plus when of loading photos on the go. Over all I would highly recommend this item! It's a steal if a deal. If you have any questions leave them below!

So, my 8 year old laptop died. I did not know what options were now out. I called my BFF and on his advice, I started looking at the Lenovo 2-n-1 options. After reviewing the options, I still wasn't sure. On the advice of my BFF, this is the unit I purchased. Having been familiar with my needs in a laptop, his suggestion to purchase this one was spot on. I love this new laptop. Perfect size, lightweight and a super nice processing speed. The touch screen is a beautiful bonus.

This is an overall great product. The Webcam is amazing, as I had bought 2 of these. One went with my partner on his deployment to give us the needed communication. The overall product is great. Great features... touchscreen and laptop to tablet capabilities. Pictures is great as well. Fast connection and speedy through functions as well. Battery life holds up surprisingly well. I was looking for a replacement for a smaller laptop at a lower price--didn't need too many "extras". The Best Buy I shopped at didn't have one in stock so they offered to mail it to me. I've had it about a month--works fine, etc. Although it's not something I necessarily would have checked out (but will in the future!) the right shift key is only as large as one of the regular letter keys and is at the absolute right side of the keyboard. The left shift key is almost the size of 3 regular letter keys (so easy to find if you're not looking at the keys as you type). It's pretty annoying. "PgUp" is where the right shift key "should" start if it was wide enough and I constantly have to correct my typing cause all of a sudden I'm typing in the middle of a paragraph I already finished--I hit PgUp by mistake. I guess it was on me to check out the keyboard arrangement first but I've never seen a key as odd as this. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone because of the keyboard arrangement but actually the laptop itself works well..

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Flex 4-14. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. lenovo

I bought this item on sale. It has pretty good potential for upgrade - once I purchased, I replaced the HDD with 256 GB Samsung 850 Evo SATA III SSD, and replaced RAM with 8GB Crucial DDR4 2133 Mhz SO-DIMM module. So now I have a pretty powerful machine for under $500. Windows boots within 5 seconds! The only drawback is glaring screen - so I had to purchase an anti-glare screen protector, which is rather tricky to apply - it is more complicated than with the ones for phones, because of the screen size.

I bought this Lenovo touch screen laptop for simple use, emails, surfing the web, etc. Within 3 weeks of using it, the mouse pad's right click was not working. I took it in to Best Buy and they told me it was a hardware issue.. They couldn't fix it. I replaced it with another Lenovo touch screen, same model, I thought it might just be that one laptop. The new one said it could not install the windows properly. Not allowing me to even get into the laptop. Now way will I ever buy Lenovo again, any model..

We are sorry to hear of the difficulty you are experiencing with the Flex 4-14. With regard to the Windows no loading properly, This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the SD card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. lenovo

I bought this laptop on impulse, needing it for school. But it ran JUST okay for a day. I rarely use it now because every time I try to complete ANY task it takes forever to load. The touchscreens off, I put it in tablet mode once and it took shutting it off and restarting it 5 times to get back to normal. I REALLY wish I could return/exchange this. It’s collecting too much dust sitting on the shelf.

Good value -- compromise on size, cost, features

The Lenovo Flex 4 14" is a good compromise for what I need: everyday laptop, but lightweight and small enough for travel, touchscreen, low cost. Hey, like everybody else, I'd prefer an i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. But I got this for a bit over $200 (Best Buy's "open box" items are the best deals around), dollar-for-dollar it was the best value I could find for what I needed. I travel overseas frequently, and this laptop is small and light enough for that; it also has all the features I need for a daily user. The Pentium 4405U is well-suited to a workhorse laptop -- low power, 2-channel, 2-core/4-thread, as capable as contemporary i3's. It takes DDR4 memory -- faster than DDR3 on most other laptops I was comparing. My previous laptop had a 1TB hard drive, but in reality I can't see filling up more than 300GB or so -- anything over that should just be externally archived. So the 500GB hard drive on this laptop is plenty big. Those reflect MY requirements, and this model fit perfectly. But the Lenovo Flex 4 14" has some drawbacks. -- No numeric keypad (not unusual for a 14" laptop); but also no embedded numeric keys on the QWERTY keyboard. I didn't know this when I bought it -- this is a big negative in my mind. Some of the numeric keys (such as "-" and "+") are needed explicitly for my editing programs; I'll look for a workaround... -- Only 4GB RAM. I soon replaced the one RAM stick with an 8GB DDR4 SODIMM (it will take up to 16GB, but those are hard to find/expensive in DDR4). -- Because of the low amount of memory and the spinning hard drive, the system bogged down frequently. Memory and disk usage hit 90%-100% for minutes on end while I waited for a webpage to load, or a program to run. Doubling the RAM to 8GB improved this immensely; and after swapping the hard drive for a 500GB SSD, I now have a screaming laptop which only rarely goes above 70% memory usage (disk usage always below 10%). -- Another minor gripe: the USB ports are always "power on" (when the laptop isn't shut down). I'm not used to this; so when I put it to sleep, I have to remember to unplug my external drive and cooling pad, otherwise battery power drains. The extra expense for the 8GB memory stick and the 500GB SSD brought my total cost up to about $400. That's still lower than the cost of a new, similar system with those components. But I now have an external 500GB drive (the Lenovo original) for backup, and a free 4GB memory stick for my next upgrade. This is a 2-in-1, and I like that gimmick. But I haven't used it at all in tablet mode, as I'm not a Windows tablet user... The touchscreen itself is accurate; and useful -- I frequently scroll, close windows, switch applications with a finger tip; much more efficient than using the trackpad or mouse for those simple gestures. Battery life is great, especially with an SSD. I'd guess I could go 8-10 hours on a full charge -- I have gone 5 hours down to about 50%. The speakers are loud, good sound. The 1366x768 display is fine for a 14" screen; it's bright with accurate colors. Controls (function keys, etc) are generally good. Although I hate the F9 key, which immediately locks the display -- I've accidentally hit that a few times (F9 is not a shift, or a two-stroke Fn) and it really interrupts your work to have to log in again. I haven't found a way to disable it... And as I said above, I lament the lack of numeric keys. I'd give the Lenovo Flex 4 14" three stars for its capabilities compared to other laptops. But I've given it an extra star for its value -- low cost for the features it offers. This system is a good price and a perfect compromise for my needs.

I bought the Lenovo Ideapad for use by high school kids to do homework, email, online look-ups, play music, etc. In short, low end, lightweight use. No gaming, no movies. It's good enough for that purpose and didn't cost much so no need to obsess about it getting lost or stolen or broken. Pro: nice bright touch screen + keyboard. 2-in-1 mode folds into tablet. Folding back to laptop covers the screen & keys for storage & protection. Nice camera. Light weight. Cons: Bundled with brief subscriptions to annoying MS Office 365 and McAfee. Sluggish response, by professional standards, but OK for this use. No CD/DVD drive but several USB ports. Battery seems pretty good.

I held off a few months so that I could take this laptop through a trial run. I initially planned on buying an HP, but the one I wanted wasn't in stock and I needed one that day. My son was also I need of a new laptop so figured I'd use his temporarily and pass it on once I purchase mine. Surprisingly, I actually fell in love with this laptop. It's lightweight, touchscreen functionality is great, and it has enough speed to process large amounts of data quickly. My dislikes are the keyboard isn't ordered in standard key configuration so typing documents is a little cumbersome and it takes a while to adjust. There's no cd/DVD drive so if u don't have access to streaming services or the internet, watching movies wont be possible. Overall, this is a good little laptop that packs a bite size punch if you're in the market for something moderately priced.
