yea nothing works including lenovos suggestion. Seems like a common issue with this laptop. taking it back and will get something else.

To try to resolve this, we recommend downloading the necessary drivers our PC Support website at this link: (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/flex-series/flex-5-14iau7/82r7/82r700l5us/downloads/ds556077-intel-wlan-driver-for-windows-11-64-bit-ideapad-flex-5-14iau7-ideapad-flex-5-16iau7?category=Networking%3A%20Wireless%20LAN), then you can download the drivers onto an external drive and transfer them to the computer (Flex 5i), or setup the computer to bypass internet and have windows search for the drivers for you.
