• Yes, it has 2 memory slots, and comes with a 4GB module in one slot, and the other slot empty. Each slot can take up to an 8GB module making 16GB the limit. Putting an 8GB module to the open slot (making 12GB total) would be a good upgrade.

• Yes. The bottom cover comes off really easily (just two screws to remove). I have 12GB total in mine and it is working fine.
