All you need to do is activate the Microsoft Office 365 Trial software. The length of time of the trial period for this model is 1-year.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought it and went back to Best Buy regarding that issue. The issue was that there was no paper in the box with the activation code. It turns out it activates when you turn it on and follow the directions then you will see two icons, One is for the 365 you get with the purchase which I believe is a student edition and the other is a regular edition that you have to purchase but for which you get a free trial period. The trial period will time out but the other one is the one that should last a year. The customer service at Best Buy in El Cajon were very helpful and patient with me. They turned on the computer and went through the steps to show me how it worked. So I am happy. It is a nice lap top for the price. $129.00...you can't beat it.
