You could attempt to install Linux. You would probably void the warranty though. Faster, not sure it would depend on how good you are installing and what version. I'd skip it to be honest.

Windows 10 has a fast boot time with no lag in running apps due to the storage drive. Most linux distros run much faster but some get to be a little buggy since they are all open software, I would suggest Ubuntu or maybe even puppy linux, I stayed away from mint since I have had so many issues with it.
