It is a good buy because it is light if you need to go and be somewhere else. So to carry it is good. Also for myself being a beginner at laptop computing. Not only that but the price was fair. It is a cute computer on design.

I bought this laptop two days ago when it went on sale for $130. Pros - low price - good build quality for the price - good battery life - good screen for the money it costs - very light weight and extremely portable - does ok job for basic tasks like web browsing, skype, youtube, and personal videos taken with my smartphone Cons - underpowered Atom processor - only 2GB RAM which cannot be upgraded (I opened the back and there is no memory slots) - power cord is very short (4 or 5 ft) - 32GB storage is very little (after the initial updates and the major Windows Threshold 2 update you are left with about 12-13GB of space) - webcam is poor - no finger scrolling with the touchpad is a major problem for me Final thoughts: This is a facebook, skype and web browsing machine so don't expect much from it. I love the light weight and how portable it is but unfortunately the no finger scrolling issue with the touchpad makes it pretty useless for me. If you can put up with it then i do recommend it as it is a nice little machine. Unfortunately I can't deal with it so I am sending it back.

    Lenovo 100S - Incredible Value

I never write reviews, but so pleased am I, I am writing one here. I bought this beauty on sale for a trip I had coming up, and as a backup travel computer for personal and professional uses. I paid 150 dollars for it. At this price point, I'm really looking for a particular concept of a computer, what I would call a web-enabled typewriter. This fits that bill perfectly. It is a typewriter with web capabilities. It's Windows 10 32 bit, and the performance is good so far. You'll definitely want a Micro SDXC card to put in the (micro only) card slot, for storage. Besides that slot, it has two USBs and an HDMI (and a headphone jack). The charger is lightweight, and the computer is incredibly light. The track pad is a weak point (no two finger scroll) but is solid despite being lackluster in features. The keyboard feels a little chintzy but this is a budget machine, and the action is just fine. Mine came with a year trial of Office 365 (pretty great!) and an anti-virus disc (pretty useless!). You don't want anything running in the background, process wise, if you can help it. Battery life is also great. It calculates as having 11 hours of use on a full charge, and if it doesn't do that, it's pretty close. I don't even think about it most of the time, just plug it in when I get alerted, which is not frequent. Anyway, I use it for word processing, spreadsheets, web-based ERP software, general web-browsing, media streaming, as well as playing old computer games (currently playing Knights of the Old Republic directly off of the Micro SD with no performance issues). I couldn't be happier with this machine. For the price, you are getting a lot. Thanks Lenovo, for a good computer. Thanks Best Buy, for a good deal on said computer. Take care! John

Got a great deal on the Lenovo laptop, $149.99, AND Microsoft Office 365 Personal FREE for one year! A $70 value! One problem: there was NO KEY CODE IN THE PACKAGE for the Office software. I phoned Best Buy support and was told initially that a key code could be sent to me via email, but after about 5 minutes on hold, the rep came back and said they couldn't do that. He advised the only way to correct the issue was for me to return the laptop and they would issue me another --supposedly with the key code. Forget it. So... 4+ stars on the Lenovo laptop... -1 star for Best Buy. They really know how to delight the customer.

I love this small compact laptop. It's does all I need that my very large and heavy laptop does and what my ipad doesn't, but this one is lighter and easy for traveling. Even my husband uses it and I don't have to guide him through it, very easy to use. Our printer connects without a problem, there is plenty of USB ports for extra stuff to connect to, and the disc drive works great, speakers are loud enough and even has earphone hook up. We have had this for a couple of months and have been very please with it and would recommend this laptop for simple every day things and price was very reasonable, under $180

This is a good lightweight laptop. For portability and for a dedicated purpose, this could be good. storage is limited with about 14 GB available to the user, but you can expand that up to an additional 128 GB with a micro SD card. It also comes with Office 2016, so the value cannot be beat. The one draw back is the touchpad is not multi-touch capable and takes a little getting used to, every now and then it will jump the cursor to another place on the screen. Still you are getting more than you pay for. battery life is excellent too.

Good - battery life - portability and low weight - processor seems acceptably fast for an atom Bad - display color is a little washed out, makes reading on web pages and other documents a bit difficult Other Thoughts - great all around little computer for the money, wonderful battery life and it seems pretty durable too. The display could be a little better but what do you expect for less than $300. Even with anti-virus installed it performs well. I added a 64 gb micro sd card to mine because the built in 32gb of storage wasn't quite enough for me once I got everything I needed installed.

No doubt a purchase worth every penny. Impressive performance and stable right out of the box. I can even play a few LESS graphic intensive games (Civ 5 and Assassins Creed 3) from Steam on it! Add a 64 Gb micro SD for any other programs you wish to download to ensure you have the space in case you want a few games. Bottom line? It's lightweight. Has a long battery life. Good screen quality at any angle. It's cheap. It is NOT a Chromebook. Oh, and one more thing...Best Buy is the last retail establishment on the planet to offer clean stores, excellent customer service, pricepoints on every item, and price guarantees. This holiday season and every time you need something, shop at Best Buy!!!!!!

I have 5 Kindle Fires, 2 Androids, and my wife has an iPad. They are all great devices for consuming from the internet, but not creating. I wanted something that was light and portable like a tablet but would let me actually do something. I Started to get a chromebook several times but held off. Saw this while browsing and fell in love. Light, portable, windows 10, which I wanted to try before upgrading my desktop and laptops, and $199. The 32G "hard drive" was a concern, until I remembered that my first computer was a Commodore 64 with a whopping 64K of memory. Bought it. Love it. The screen contrast is not great, but then it is not my go-to computer for everyday use. I'm looking at taking it on trips, on cruises, etc. I think it is perfect for what I bought it for.

I was on the ropes about purchasing a Lenovo Chromebook. I went in to look at what was offered, the size and portability of the chromebook is what caught my eye. I found this little gem though. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, I needed something to just hold me over. What really caught my eye was that it comes with a year of Microsoft office. I went with the purchase of the bad boy. I bought a 16 gig micro thumb drive. Which brings me to my only downside of this computer. Comes with 32 gig hard drive. A lot of which is cluttered with pre install stuff and OS. Which is fine. It has a micro sd slot, I plan on getting a 64 gig chip. I have 2 gigs of music. I'll have plenty of room for stuff. Great buy. Battery is super amazing. Lasts 10 hours for me. I haven't done much besides maybe run Netflix and type up emails. Or listen to music and type stuff up. Have had zero problems.

I had the need recently to replace a broken laptop for someone whose cat had thrown their current laptop down one too many times. The need was immediate and the budget was small. To that end I looked through the local box store inventory and found what I thought would be the best choice. They had already borrowed an 11.6 in Chromebook so we knew the screen size was OK. I settled on a Lenovo Ideapad 100s with windows 10. It is a 2 GB ram and 32 GB ssd system that promised long battery life and smaller cost. The keyboard has a nice feel, firm key-press but quiet. The function keys start out as the alternate control keys like brightness and volume, like the Chromebooks have. for some reason I have not determined why Lenovo designed this one to allow the screen to open until the unit is completely flat, yet. The system is quick to boot and use. Due to the small disk drive I put in a 32 GB microsd card to use as storage. It also came with a year of office 365. I made sure to activate that. But due to the small storage I only put some programs from portableapps.com and Chrome, my primary browser. The battery is large, flat and in the center of the keyboard part of the laptop and provides hours of power. My last look was 10 hours of estimated power when full. At some point I will run a test to get a better estimate. The specifics of the system are at the bottom of this post. The audio is very good for it size. The built in mic is able to capture you from a normal distance away and sounds like a built in mic. Not a bad thing for it to be like. To finish off I thought I would do something like an unboxing, but that has been done by so many. Lets do an opening. Lets look at what makes up the inside of this laptop, with out too much disassembling. I don’t want to take to each screw but show the main parts. If you are looking for a small windows 10 computer that will provide light word processing, email and internet browsing then this is the computer for you. I was able to find it for $179 when buying the first time then $149 when I bought mine. The list right now is $199 http://thetwidgetlog.com/the-new-netbook/

This is a good product. I bought it on sale for almost 200.00$ that's including geek squad. I like it , it's small and fast and well made. It's not to heavy and it's super lightweight and installation of Microsoft Office was quick and easy. I do not need an optical disk drive or things of those nature for a laptop. It is strictly for school and typing Papers and Web browsing for me anyways. I have zero issues with it. It's well made too. I'm used to a bigger keyboard but I am getting used to the smaller one. I do not mind the red color it's nice. I am buying another one for my mom for Christmas this year. Great purchase great buy and wOrth the money

Bought for my wife so she had a small laptop/tablet to do stuff instead of her using a desktop. Price was right, size and weight right been working fine. Only one thing I would recommend is purchasing a sdhd card got her a 128 gb card to beef up the 32gb hard drive.

First off this is a small portable laptop for internet browsing and light usage so that is how I will review it. For the price of a chromebook you can purchase this. A Windows machine with great battery life and a good all around product. Mine is on 24/7 running a 3D printer, camera and web server. I couldn't be happier with the machine. It does everything I expect it to do and it even slices 3d models which I never expected it to be able to do. I wish it had more storage than the 10 free GB's but it has a micro sd slot and 2 usb ports so not an issue. My ONLY complaint is the touchpad does not support gesture control. That is a highly used feature now in the Windows environment. For an on the go machine or a basic laptop this machine is fantastic value.

Bought this to travel with as I didn't like my chrome book. Not thrilled with the red color but the pc works well, a bit slow but if you don't overload it with additional downloads it is great for travel. Lightweight, good size screen, long battery life. It's worth the price.
