Can i get school work done on this laptop null

That will depend on the type of work that needs to be done. This is an entry level system meant for light use. It will be good for Microsoft Office projects, in fact, it comes with a free 1-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365. It will also be good for online browsing. It has WiFi built in. If this is the type of work the student will be doing, then yes, this would be a good choice.

I bought this for my wife for her graduate school work. She loves it. She is typing papers, annotated bibliographies and doing online classes. It works great.
