Office, web browsing and playing music are about it. There is a Dell that is about $350 that is significantly better and will be viable for about a decade if he doesn't break it. Buy the Geek Squad protection too if it's a gift for a kid. He'll end up needing it.

Completed all assignements without problem started new school year and still plenty memory. not best for gaming which we decided wasnt allowed on school laptop anyway.
