It sounds like you are brushing the touchpad as you type. You can adjust the touchpad settings in your system settings. Select the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your desktop screen. Type "touchpad" in the search box. Select "mouse and touchpad settings". Then make your adjustments and save.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As I understand your problem, this is why I'm not a major fan of laptops. HOWEVER, that said you can avoid a fair amount of your problems by being very careful WHERE your thumbs are as you move your hands over the keyboard. Most likely you don't even notice that you've dragged one or the other over the touchpad and away goes the cursor at times. My suggestion since I have that very problem myself was to purchase and use a Logitech Wireless Mouse. Because my hands no longer hover over the touchpad, much of the trouble is eliminated. Thats' been my experience.
