The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop, model number 81WF004CUS, is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. This model ships with: 8GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM (4GB OnBoard + 4GB DIMM). 4GB are soldered to the motherboard and an additional 4GB is installed within the one RAM memory slot within this configuration. Your certified technician can remote the 4GB RAM stick and replace it with an 8GB RAM stick for the maximum RAM this system can support, of 12GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. We recommend you consult with your certified technician about your upgrade options.

That being said if so thing goes wrong in the process of upgrading its on you not the manufacturer. The warranty void sticker is ONLY THERE TO DISCOURAGE People from working on their own stuff it does not actually hold any weight or real meaning. Know you rights it helps
