There is a 30-day trial of McAfee virus protection software installed. You will need to purchase a subscription to keep the software active after the 30-day trial. You don't need to use this if you would rather use a different 3rd party virus protection software. Just uninstall McAfee before you install another virus protection software. Windows 10 ships with Windows Defender virus protection software that is free to use. If you choosing to use this virus protection, you still must uninstall McAfee before you turn on Windows Defender.
