Can this be used with a MacBook? null

Yes it can. They worked instantly with my MacBook Pro 2016. You'll just need the USB-C to HDMI dongle. The monitor comes with a HDMI cord, so just plug everything in and they'll work.

I bought this monitor have tried two different brands of USB C to HDMI adapters (for my MacBook pro), and neither are working. Do I need the actual apple brand adapter? Right now I'm just getting 'no signal'.

I have it connected to a 2012 MacBook Air using the mini DisplayPort cable. Works perfect. Gives the maximum resolution. When I tried connecting it using HDMI (from an external thunderbolt connected dock) I could only get 1920 resolution.

Yes, although you may need an adapter or a cable that converts (HDMI to DisplayPort)

That will depend on the compatibility of the MacBook. Check with Apple.
