I recommend wait for this laptop on sale if you are in tight budget. Normally the laptop is on sale around 1099$. Lenovo always has a random crazy sale.

To answer your question about Open Box - in my past experience, buying open box in the store results in packaging that obviously states that it is indeed refurbished or "Open Box". I'm not sure how it would look when shipped - I would contact Best Buy and ask if they could help. Good luck.
