You can replace the SATA drive with a SATA 2.5" SSD. Use a SSD maker's website to check compatibility. Also, disregard the "it's not upgradable and it'll void the warranty". US federal law (Mag-Moss Warranty Act) allows for you to service your own system and won't void the warranty - unless you damage it.* The upgraded component won't be covered by the laptop warranty, rather it'll be covered under its own warranty. Also, you can upgrade the RAM too. *I'm not a lawyer. Manufacturers try to make you believe it'll be voided but that isn't the case. It's a scare tactic they use to make you pay more for another model or for their own upgrade. Upgrade/service at your own risk as damages won't be covered. The FTC has plenty of information on this. Do a quick web search on the law or contact the FTC if uncertain. If not comfortable with doing the upgrade, Geek Squad can do the service for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can swap out the 2.5" HDD with a SATA SSD if you like. This unit also has an empty M.2 slot. You can add in a PCIE SSD here or drop in an Intel Optane module to get SSD performance without losing the HDD storage capacity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, there is not a slot for an SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. Your certified technician can replace the existing standard hard drive with a compatible replacement. Check with your certified technician for options.
